GUILTY YET FREE!

In the early 1900's, two brothers from China immigrated to San Francisco in search of a new life. The older brother found a job but his kid brother turned to a life of crime.
One day, he got into a terrible fight
over a gambling debt and killed a man. He got the
dead man's blood all over his hands and clothing.
As he ran home, he knew the police would be looking for
him.

When he got home he got rid of his clothing and ran away to hide.

When his older brother got home and saw the blood-stained clothing, he knew that his younger brother was in a lot of trouble. Then he did something very strange . . . he put the bloody clothes on!

Soon the police came and the older brother was arrested for a crime that he did not commit! He loved his guilty brother so much he was willing to take his blame!

He was taken to court and when he stood before the judge he refused to defend himself and he was pronounced guilty of a crime that he did not commit.

He loved his younger brother so much that he was willing to die in his place. He gave his life as a sacrifice so that his brother could live.

When the guilty lad realized that his brother died in his place he was filled with guilt and wonder -- "Why would anyone love him so much that he would die for him?"
