This new church building will be a tremendous boost in reaching the community of Taquila with the gospel! Above, Twila Beck from Lincoln, NE, and Carol Byrne from Colorado Springs pose in front of the new construction!

One of my first presentations of the gospel in Taquila was to a man by the name of Juan who runs a small butcher shop. I knew that he was busy and told him that I would finish the "story" quickly . . . but he insisted that I take my time . . . he wanted to hear the whole story! Juan was anxious to receive Christ as his Savior . . . and several hours later when I was walking past his shop he called out with a cheerful greeting and thanked us for coming to speak with him.

Pictured above is Jesus Cervantes, one of our team members, with a mother by the name of Norma, and her teen aged son. Jesus speaks fluent Spanish, but the others went along with him to learn how to share the gospel. Our desire was to train local believers to continue reaching the lost. Now they are asking us for more gospel booklets . . . please pray with us that we can print another 50,000 copies and ship them down to Tucson, where they will be delivered by the aviation team of United Indian Mission. We have already raised about one third of the $3,000 needed for printing 50,000 copies . . . the cost is just 6 cents per copy . . . 16 pages in full color!

Above, Donna Wasfaret from Minnesota heads out with her translator and team . . . Donna is 70 years old and she had the joy of telling many people about the love of Christ . . . many responded gladly to the words of the gospel!
Donna will tell you that nothing is more thrilling than to see people call upon the Name of the Lord and be saved!
On our final day of street and door to door evangelism, we were heading for a community that is very poor . . . and dangerous. The area is on railroad property between the tracks and nearby factories . . . so it is not part of the city and isn't even patrolled by police. We were about to experience a great outpouring of God's grace and love in the most unlikely part of Guadalajara . . . CLICK HERE to see this exciting report!

What would be the response to the gospel in such a place?
Pictured below are two young people who are part of the church in Taquila. Both brother and sister (and their mother) were part of the two-day outreach . . . and all three of them are now trained and sharing Christ in their neighborhood with the illustrated gospel flip charts that the team provided for them! Perhaps our greatest ministry was to the workers and translators who assisted us in the evangelistic outreaches!

The plants used to make Taquila can be seen behind Norma and her brother . . . the plants are grown everywhere for miles in each direction. They are deceptively beautiful, but the liquor that is made from them has devastated many lives.
My interpreter and I also shared the gospel with a group of truck drivers who were waiting to drop their load of "taquila" plants at the local brewery . . . both of the men below responded to the invitation to receive Christ, the man with the green hat prayed with tears.

Without doubt, one of the highlights of our two days of outreach in Taquila was to watch one of the pastor's sons as he explained the gospel to a neighborhood man. This little boy was earnest in his presentation and soon the man bowed his head and openly prayed to receive Christ!

Future mission trips to Mexico are being planned . . . the next one possibly this fall in October or November . . . perhaps the Lord would burden you to go . . . . or send one of your teenagers! For more information you can contact Chuck Anderson at PastorChk@aol.com or call him at (719) 686-0090.
Our team prayed that we would return home with a passion to share the gospel here in America. There are people here just waiting to hear the truth of the message of God's grace and love!
In another community called Los Minerales, a large number of people responded to the gospel. Pictured below is Twila Beck and Leslie Osorio from Lincoln, NE along with a mother and her family that had just received the gift of God which is eternal life in Christ!
